Oyo APC Youth Leader Launches Statewide PVC Mobilisation Drive Across 33 LGAs

The Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Hon. Olalekan Glory, has launched a statewide voter registration mobilisation campaign aimed at increasing citizens’ participation in the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across the 33 local government areas of the state.
The initiative, tagged the INEC Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) Drive, is designed to encourage eligible residents, particularly young people, to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards ahead of future elections.
As part of the mobilisation effort, the Oyo APC Youth Wing has constituted Local Government Coordinators in all 33 councils. The coordinators have been mandated to spearhead voter education campaigns, mobilise eligible citizens for registration, and promote widespread participation in the CVR exercise within their respective local government areas.
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Olalekan Glory described voter registration as a fundamental civic responsibility and a critical component of democratic governance. He noted that the exercise would help expand voter participation, strengthen democratic institutions, and ensure that more citizens are equipped to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
According to him, the campaign will focus on grassroots engagement, community sensitisation, and sustained awareness efforts to ensure that no eligible voter is left behind.
Political observers have described the initiative as a strategic grassroots mobilisation programme capable of increasing voter awareness and enhancing citizens’ readiness for future electoral processes in the state.
The Oyo APC Youth Wing reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment, political inclusion, and active civic engagement, stressing that the success of democracy depends largely on citizens’ participation in the electoral process.
The organisation also urged all eligible residents of Oyo State who are yet to register or need to update their voter information to take advantage of the ongoing registration exercise.
“Get Registered. Get Your PVC. Make Your Vote Count.” remains the central message of the statewide campaign.
