BCOS: Sarafa Alli Raises Alarm, Appeals to Makinde to Protect Oyo’s Broadcasting Legacy

Foresightmedia, Ibadan.

I have been following the disturbing developments around the Broadcasting Corporations of Oyo state, BCOS recently.

I have been restrained from making a public pronouncement on a lot of issues concerning the Corporation because I do not wish to be seen as playing cheap politics with such an important matter.

However, it has become pertinent for me to make this statement at this crucial point.

I do not, for now, want to talk about certain developments of the past, regardless of my personal opinion about them.

I want to focus on what I feel could still be redeemed in the BCOS.

I discovered that structures which appears to me like lock-up shops are now being built on the little space left around the BCOS Building.

I must admit that I was not only shocked, but, I was also sad to behold such a very disturbing structures within the small cluster of space remaining and belonging to the BCOS.

I thought an edifice like the BCOS require some level of serenity and environment of decorum.

I can not imagine an atmosphere where food vendors and perhaps, liquor sellers now have their shops within just a few meters of the BCOS Building.

What an atmosphere of chaos that would present?

I want to appeal to Governor Seyi Makinde, to please, use his good office to wade into this matter.

As the Governor of the state, there is no way he could claim ignorance about the events that are currently happening in the BCOS and if he is not aware, I am using this medium to call his attention to it.

The BCOS deserves better.

The activities taking place within the little cluster of space remaining in that place are sending a dangerous signal to the public.

The BCOS is one of the Legacies of Oyo state.

We must protect and strengthen the Corporation, not threaten it.

Once again, I am solemnly appealing to Governor Seyi Makinde to please save the BCOS from becoming a once upon a time Legacy of Oyo state.

Kindly share the news
