Oyo APC Youth Leader Rallies Senatorial, LG Youth Leaders for 2027, Holds Inaugural Parley

The youth wing of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has set in motion a sweeping grassroots mobilisation strategy aimed at repositioning the party ahead of future elections, following its inaugural meeting with youth leaders across all 33 local government areas and 3 Senatororial Youth leaders in Oyo state.

The high level parley, held at the APC Secretariat in Oke Ado, Ibadan on April 15, 2026, brought together key youth stakeholders from across the state in what party leaders described as a defining moment for renewed coordination and political engagement.

The meeting, which commenced at about 2:01 PM, featured the formal introduction of newly appointed youth executives by the Deputy State Youth Leader, Hon. Sayo Fatoki, while the Oyo Central Youth Leader, Comrade Olarenwaju Oloja, welcomed participants and commended their commitment to strengthening the party structure.

In opening address, the State Youth Leader, Hon. Oladejo Olalekan Glory, emphasised unity, discipline, and inclusiveness as the cornerstone of his leadership. He made it clear that his administration would operate an open door system that accommodates both returning and newly appointed youth leaders without discrimination.

He declared that a key priority of his leadership is to galvanise the youth base towards reclaiming political power in the state, stressing that Oyo remains a strategic battleground where young people must play decisive roles.

Drawing lessons from previous elections, he outlined a structured approach anchored on grassroots engagement, data driven mobilisation, and consistent communication across all levels of the party.

As part of operational directives, the State Youth Leader mandated the commencement of monthly meetings in all local government areas starting from May 2026, with active participation of ward youth representatives. He further directed the establishment of coordinated ward based structures to enhance mobilisation and intelligence gathering, alongside regular reporting to the state leadership.

At the senatorial level, youth leaders were tasked with convening quarterly meetings and organising Youth Town Hall engagements in their respective districts before August 2026, as part of efforts to deepen political conversations and widen participation.

Reinforcing party discipline, Olalekan Glory warned against acts of disloyalty, stating that any youth leader who works against party interests or candidates would face strict sanctions, including removal from office. He stressed the supremacy of the party in all electoral matters.

The meeting also resolved to launch a statewide PVC mobilisation campaign driven by youth leaders, with a focus on increasing voter participation and strengthening the party’s grassroots appeal.

Participants unanimously adopted key resolutions including sustained local government meetings, establishment of ward structures, regular activity reporting, and intensified efforts to promote unity within the party.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Olowe commended the turnout and urged continued cooperation among youth leaders to achieve the collective goal of returning the APC to power in Oyo State.

The meeting ended on a note of renewed determination, with stakeholders expressing confidence in the youth wing’s capacity to drive the party’s next phase of political growth.
