Encomiums As Tinubu, Amosun, Others Extol Lam Adesina On Remembrance
President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has described the late former of Oyo State, Alh. Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina as a diehard compatriot who stood tall in the service of humanity.
Tinubu made the depiction on Tuesday in Ibadan as the special guest of the second memorial lecture organized by the family and political associates to reunite, extol virtue and pray for his continued repose.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, President Tinubu hailed late Adesina as a core progressive who rigidly believed in Nigeria’s promise with whom he dreamed of a nation built on justice, equal opportunity and service to the people.
I hold his memory dear to my heart as he was not just a brother in the progressive struggle but as a believer in Nigeria’s greatness. His life was proved that politics can be noble when guided by principles and compassion.
As Governor of Oyo State from 1999 – 2003, late Lam Adesina passionately served not ruled the good people of Oyo State with the provision of many lofty physical infrastructures and human development against the rots institutionalized by the military administrations, he recounted.
The guest speaker of the event, former Ogun State Governor, Sen. Ibikunle Oyelaja Amosun in his lecture themed “Sustaining A Legacy of Effective Leadership In Nigeria” implored parents and guardians to prioritize moral impartation at home.
He harped on resuscitation of history in the educational curriculum as to redeem the dimmed glory of our core value as Yoruba noting that such would enable leaders of tomorrow to know what the patriotism is as exemplified by late Lam Adesina’s legacy.
Among the dignitaries who graced the event included; Sen. Ajibola Bashiru (National Secretary of the APC), Dr. Kayode Fayemi (represented by Mr. Ademola Obanise), Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, Alh. Olayide Abas, Chief Akin Oke, Alh. Fatai Ibikunle, Elder Wole Oyelese, Sen. Kola Balogun, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Prof. Adeolu Akande, Prince Niran Adeyoju, Hon..Bosun Oladele as well as family members, friends and political associates of the late former Governor.
