Chairmanship Hopeful Joshua Ojo ‘J’icon’ Applauds Tinubu, Makinde as Oriire Abduction Victims Regain Freedom
The Ex-member of the Oyo State Youth Parliament and an aspiring Executive Chairman of Oriire Local Government, Joshua Ojo Aderemi Akin (J’Icon) has expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God and congratulated the people of Oriire, Oyo State, and Nigeria on the safe release of the abducted pupils and their teachers after 56 days in captivity.
In a statement made available to the press, J’Icon described the victims’ return as a moment of immense relief and thanksgiving for their families and the entire Oriire community. He also commended the collaborative efforts of the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government, security agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders in securing their release.
According to him:
“I give all glory, honour, and gratitude to Almighty God for the safe release of the abducted pupils and their teachers after 56 difficult days in captivity. Their return brings immense relief and joy not only to their families but also to the entire people of Oriire Local Government, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.”
“For fifty-six days, the affected families endured uncertainty, pain, and countless sleepless nights. Our communities remained united in prayer and hope, believing that this day would eventually come. Today, we rejoice with every parent, every sibling, every teacher, and every resident whose faith never wavered.”
“The successful rescue of the victims is a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration and determination. I commend the coordinated efforts of the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Oyo State Government led by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Oyo State Amotekun Corps, intelligence operatives, local vigilante groups, traditional rulers, and community leaders who worked tirelessly towards this successful outcome.”
“I particularly appreciate Governor Seyi Makinde for his calm, responsive, and responsible leadership throughout this difficult period. His administration remained engaged with security agencies, reassured the people, and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring the victims returned safely while allowing security operations to proceed professionally.”
“While we celebrate this joyful development, our hearts remain with those who paid the ultimate price in the course of protecting our communities. We honour the brave security personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and pray that Almighty God grants them eternal rest. Their courage, patriotism, and selflessness will never be forgotten.”
“We also remember the innocent citizens who lost their lives as a result of these tragic attacks. To their families, I extend my deepest condolences and prayers. May God comfort them, strengthen them, and grant them the fortitude to bear these painful losses.”
“The events of the past several weeks have once again reminded us that security is a collective responsibility. Government alone cannot achieve lasting peace without the cooperation of the people. I therefore urge our communities to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information, remain vigilant, and reject misinformation capable of undermining ongoing security efforts.”
“As an aspirant for the Office of the Executive Chairman of Oriire Local Government, this experience has further strengthened my resolve to pursue policies that prioritise community safety, strengthen local security collaboration, support intelligence gathering, and create an environment where our farmers can return safely to their farms, our children can attend school without fear, and businesses can thrive.”
“Today is a day of thanksgiving. We celebrate the safe return of our children and teachers, honour the memory of those who lost their lives, and renew our collective commitment to building a safer and more secure Oriire.”
“Congratulations to the affected families, the good people of Oriire Local Government, Oyo State, and Nigeria.”
“May Almighty God continue to protect our land, preserve our people, and grant us lasting peace.”
