Hon. Tolani Adigun Visits Burnt Bode Market, Sympathizes with Traders

The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly candidate for Ibadan Southwest Constituency I, Hon. Tolani, on Tuesday paid a sympathy visit to traders and victims affected by the recent fire outbreak at Bode Market in Ibadan.

Hon. Tolani Adigun, who visited the market alongside Hon. Remi Oseni and Hon. Folake Olunloyo-Osinowo, expressed deep concern over the devastating incident, describing the market as a vital economic hub and a symbol of the rich cultural heritage of the people.

Addressing traders during the visit, she commiserated with those who lost goods, property, and sources of livelihood to the inferno, assuring them that they were not alone in their moment of grief.

According to her, Bode Market represents more than a centre of commerce, particularly for practitioners and traders in traditional medicine; it also serves as a means of sustenance for numerous families across the community.

Hon. Tolani noted that while the fire had destroyed physical structures and goods, it could not extinguish the resilience, determination, and unity of the affected traders and residents.

She urged the victims to remain hopeful and steadfast, expressing confidence that the market would recover stronger through collective support and community solidarity.

The APC assembly candidate also prayed for divine comfort for those affected and called on well-meaning individuals, government agencies, and stakeholders to support efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of the victims and restoring normal commercial activities in the market.

The visit was marked by interactions with traders and community leaders, who appreciated the show of concern and solidarity during this difficult period.
