Aje Festival: Queen Ladoja Hails Ooni For Promoting Socio-Cultural Values, Praises Olubadan For Providing Support

Wife of Olubadan of Ibadanland, HRM Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Queen Rashidat Olayinka Ladoja, on Monday joined other eminent Nigerians across the world to celebrate this year’s Aje Festival In Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The ancient city of Ife was agog as the event witnessed spiritual prayers at the palace of Ooni, His Imperial Majesty, Arole Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, who hosted the event.
Queen Rashidat Ladoja, who received a royal welcome from the Ooni of Ife and his beautiful wife, Olori Ashley Afolashade Ogunwusi, dressed gorgeously in all-white attire, symbolising peace, purity and unity.
The Festival of Wealth, which means “Odun Aje” in Yoruba Language is to usually celebrate the spirit of wealth and profitability.
Speaking on the Festival, Queen Rashidat Ladoja said that Aje is a goddess spirit that is significant in human’s existence, especially in Yoruba race, hence, people strive to have its impact on their day-to-day life.
Queen Rashidat commended the Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi and Olori Ashley Ogunwusi for always supporting and promoting culture and tourism with a view to boosting the socio-cultural as well as economic development, not only in ile-Ife, but in Yorubaland generally.
She also lauded the Iyalaje Oodua and the Coordinator of the Aje Festival, Princess Toyin Kolade for being an inspiration to many people and also a respecter of the prestigious traditional institution.
Queen Rashidat who is also a Lawyer, however, appreciated her husband, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa 1, for giving her the enabling environment and opportunity to join in the promotion of cultural values of Ibadanland and Yoruba race in general.
The Festival, which is an annual event, further showed the belief of Yoruba people In Aje as the goddess that brings wealth, prosperity and fortunes to human beings.
