Oriire Youth Council Meets Oyo Youth Agency Chairman, Secures Access to POS Scheme and Soft Loans for Local Youths

In a move that further amplifies the voice and vision of Oriire Youth Council, a delegation of the Council recently paid a courtesy visit to Prince Adebowale Falana, the vibrant and forward-thinking Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development.
During the impactful session held in Ibadan, Prince Falana reaffirmed the commitment of the Oyo State Government to grassroots youth empowerment, and specifically commended Oriire Youth Council for their unwavering advocacy and developmental initiatives in one of the most rural local governments in the state.
While addressing the Council’s delegation, Prince Falana charged the young leaders to remain resilient, focused, and consistent, noting that their dedication to Oriire’s transformation will not go unrewarded.
“The effort and passion you’re showing from Oriire is commendable. Continue on this path. Victory and visibility lie ahead for your local government,” the Chairman said.
Recognizing the Youth Council as a frontline voice for Oriire’s development, he lauded recent efforts by the group, particularly their ongoing PVC sensitization campaign, community consultations, and political mobilization strategies.
As a gesture of support and inclusion, Prince Falana hinted the Council about a special opportunity for youths in Oriire Local Government to benefit from a state-sponsored economic empowerment initiative.
The program, which is a collaboration between the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development and First City Monument Bank (FCMB), will provide:
- Free POS machine registration
- Access to soft loans for youth-driven microbusinesses
According to the Chairman, the initiative is part of the State Government’s efforts to support entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and job creation among young people across Oyo State.
“Oriire is not left out. Any interested youth residing anywhere in the State can benefit.” he said.
Interested youths residing in Oriire Local Government Area are encouraged to contact the Oriire Youth Council National Secretary via 08108433217 for registration guidelines and application support.
Applications are expected to begin this week, with priority given to youth-owned ventures and startup initiatives seeking to scale operations.
Representing Oriire Youth Council at the meeting were:
- Hon. Sarafadeen Owonikoko Isiaq, National Chairman
- Comrade Joshua Ojo Aderemi, Ex-Officio I and Member representing Oriire Youths at the Oyo State Youth Parliament
“Our goal is clear: We want every youth in Oriire to feel seen, empowered, and included,” said Comrade Owonikoko. “Opportunities like this—when embraced—can change stories and strengthen homes.”
Comrade Joshua Ojo added: “We won’t stop until Oriire becomes a model for rural youth leadership in Nigeria. We thank Prince Falana for his openness and commitment to the grassroots.”
With its steady momentum—from voter mobilization to education advocacy, and now economic empowerment—the Oriire Youth Council continues to position itself as a vital platform for grassroots transformation in Oyo State.
The Council’s 10-Year
Development Agenda (2024–2034) is already being set in motion with real outcomes, powerful partnerships, and visible community impact.
