International Women’s Day: Dr. Olabisi Adebambo Celebrates Resilience of Women with Disabilities Across Clusters
As the world commemorates International Women’s Day, the Director for Persons with Disabilities of the City Boy Movement, Dr. Olabisi Olaitan Adebambo, has extended warm commendations to women with disabilities across various clusters, applauding their courage, resilience, and contributions to national development.
In a statement released on Sunday, Dr. Adebambo described women with disabilities as powerful symbols of strength whose stories continue to inspire hope, inclusion, and social transformation despite numerous societal barriers.
She emphasized that this year’s celebration presents an important opportunity to spotlight the voices and achievements of women within the disability community, including those with physical disabilities, visual impairment, hearing impairment, intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as persons with albinism.
According to her, women across these clusters have continued to demonstrate remarkable leadership in education, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and community development, proving that disability does not limit the capacity to lead and excel.
Dr. Adebambo called on government institutions, civil society organizations, and community leaders to deepen efforts toward inclusive policies that guarantee equal access to education, employment, healthcare, and political participation for women with disabilities.
She noted that true national progress can only be achieved when no group is left behind.
The Director further reaffirmed the commitment of the Persons with Disabilities Directorate of the City Boy Movement to continue advocating for empowerment, visibility, and opportunities for women living with disabilities across Nigeria.
Dr. Adebambo concluded by encouraging women with disabilities to remain confident in their abilities and continue to break barriers while inspiring the next generation.
“Your resilience lights the path for a more inclusive society,” she said. “Today we celebrate your strength, your voice, and your limitless potential.”
