Oriire Youth Council Flags Off PVC Drive, Grants Live Radio Interview, Seeks Strategic Stakeholders’ Synergy

The Oriire Youth Council today officially kicked off its much-anticipated PVC Sensitization Drive with a compelling live radio interview session on Parrot FM 101.1MHz, located at Oke-Baby area of Ogbomoso. Members of the Council were guests on the show hosted by broadcaster and Oriire indigene, Babatunde Olaniyi, where they fielded questions and shared plans to mobilize eligible voters across all wards of the local government.

Speaking during the session, Comrade Sarafadeeen Owonikoko Isiaq, National Chairman of the Council, emphasized the urgency of the campaign:

“We are embarking on this drive to awaken civic consciousness among our people, especially the youth. PVC ownership is the foundation of effective democratic participation. We’ve secured commitments from our leaders and are now engaging electoral and civic institutions for deeper impact.”

Comrade Temitayo Ogundare Lawrence, National Vice Chairman I, spoke on the need for rural inclusiveness:

“Our campaign is community-driven. We are reaching the remotest parts of Oriire to ensure no eligible voter is left behind. This is about full participation and shared responsibility.”

Comrade Folasade Akanji, National Vice Chairman II, stressed the need for greater female voter participation:

“Women and girls in Oriire must realize their voices count. We’re not just talking to them—we’re organizing with them. Gender inclusion is central to our agenda.”

Ajala Oluwaseun Babatunde, Assistant National Secretary, gave insights on upcoming institutional collaborations:

“We’re scheduled to meet INEC and NOA on July 30th to establish synergy for a smooth voter education exercise. With their support, this campaign will be structured, impactful, and well-coordinated.”

Gideon Aremu, Ward 9 Representative, shared grassroots-level reactions to the initiative:

“Our interactions so far show people are eager to participate. All they need is access, encouragement, and direction, which this drive will provide.”

Akorede Phebian Jacob, Financial Secretary, highlighted transparency and financial discipline.

“We’ve already met key figures like the Executive Chairman, Hon. Michael Alabi Olateju, and Hon. Johnson Ogundele Akin of the State Assembly. Their words of encouragement have energized us to do more, with integrity and accountability.”

Rounding off the session, Joshua Ojo Akin, Ex-Officio I of the Council and member of the Oyo State Youth Parliament, noted:

“This project is rooted in vision. We’re consulting widely—from the grassroots to the state level—because this is more than an event; it’s a civic legacy in the making. We’re just getting started.”
