Bimbo Adekambi: What Happened In The State Licensing Office Under Your Watch As Commissioner For Finance? | Sola Abegunde

Looks can be deceitful.

I have seen a lot of people talked about the gentle looks of the Gubernatorial candidate of the Allied People’s Movement, APM, Mr. Bimbo Adekambi.

I even heard people talked about his physical outlook. He has a six pack, the younger ones would boast.

However, beyond the gentle looks, who, except God, the Omnipresent and Bimbo Adekambi himself, knows what is deeply hidden deeply inside the belly.

Just yesterday, his mentor and benefactor, Seyi Makinde, was mocking the aged and elderly at Akure, the Ondo state Capital.

A State once governed by the late Pa. Adekunle Ajasin, who became Governor of the old Ondo state at a fairly old age.

Now, let us come back to Bimbo Adekambi. Let us ask him, what happened in the Oyo state licensing office when, he, Bimbo Adekambi was the Commissioner for Finance and the office was directly under his watch?

What led to an investigation of the activities of the then State Licensing officer, Mr. Olaniyi and others by the Civil service Commission?

What prompted the Dismissal from service of Mr. Olaniyi and why was he reinstated by Mrs. Agboola?

Who was the Licensing officer, allegedly shielded by Bimbo Adekambi? The fellow was first pushed from the Oyo state Licensing Office in Ibadan to the Oyo state Liaison office at Lagos, before he escaped to Canada.

Mr. Olaniyi now lives in Oyo town. He developed a half stroke after learning of his dismissal for a crime he knew nothing about.

Fortunately for him, he was later reinstated by Mrs. Agboola but, the poor man is still managing a half stroke until I am writing this report.

Let me provide some clarification.

There was a very serious fraud detected at the Oyo State Licensing Office when Bimbo Adekambi was Commissioner for Finance and was in charge of the Office.

According to my findings, the State Licensing officer at the time, Mr. Olaniyi, knew nothing about the fraudulent activities which were allegedly carried out by some boys who were discovered to have links to Bimbo Adekambi.

The fraudulent activities were carried out with the support of some new generation Banks at the time and it had to do with vehicle licensing payments.

There was an investigation and the State Licensing officer, Mr. Olaniyi was recommended for Dismissal, in error.

The culprits were allegedly shielded by Bimbo Adekambi and one of them was pushed from the Oyo state Licensing Office to the Oyo state Liaison office at Lagos.

He later eloped to Canada.

I was told that Bimbo Adekambi allegedly tore a copy of the report indicting his boys but there existed more than one report.

Mr. Olaniyi was later reinstated by Mrs Agboola but the damage had been done. He is yet to recover from the shock of the news of his dismissal in the first place and he is still managing a half stroke. He lives in Oyo town today.

The crime itself was not investigated by any Anti-corruption Agency and I think we have to reawaken it. Criminal matters do not have expiry periods.

I have my facts. I have my way of fighting this kind of battles.
