Hon. Tolani Adigun Felicitates Amb. Florence Ajimobi on IAEA Board Appointment
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ibadan Southwest Constituency I, Hon. Tolani Adigun, has congratulated Dr. Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, former First Lady of Oyo State and Nigeria’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), on her appointment as Nigeria’s Governor on the IAEA Board of Governors.
Nigeria was elected to the IAEA Board of Governors for the 2026–2028 term, following the election held during the IAEA General Conference in Vienna, Austria.
In a congratulatory message, Hon. Tolani Adigun described the development as a significant milestone and a moment of pride for Nigeria, noting that the appointment places Dr. Mrs. Ajimobi in a position to contribute to discussions on nuclear science and technology, safety and security, healthcare, agriculture, food security, water-resource management and human-capacity development.
Hon. Tolani commended Dr. Mrs. Ajimobi for her continued service to Nigeria and expressed confidence that her experience and diplomatic exposure would contribute meaningfully to the country’s representation at the international body.
She wished the former First Lady a successful tenure and greater accomplishments in her new responsibility, praying that her service would further advance Nigeria’s interests and strengthen the country’s contribution to global development.
