Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency: Federal High Court Fixed September 14 For Hearing Of Masolanu’s Motion

The Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo state Capital has fixed hearing in the Motion filed by Otunba Masolanu Adeolu for the 14th of September, 2026.

Otunba Masolanu Adeolu is challenging the nomination of Hon. Yusuf Asimiyu Osuolale as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency.

Joined in the suit, marked FHC/IB/CS/79/26 are the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Masolanu is asking for an order of the court setting aside the purported nomination of Hon. Yusuf Asimiyu Osuolale as the candidate of the APC for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency amongst other reliefs.

According to court papers, Masolanu claims that there was no valid primary conducted by the APC on the 16th of May 2026 or any other day.

He said that he notified the APC through an Appeal he submitted to the relevant organ of the party and that despite the fact that his Appeal was heard, he was not informed of any resolution on same despite repeated demands through letters and Advertorial on the Nation Newspaper.

As at the time of filing this report, the INEC and the APC had filed counter affidavits but Hon. Yusuf Asimiyu Osuolale is yet to file any papers and neither was he represented by a Counsel at the last date of adjournment.

In a chat with our correspondent, Otunba Masolanu Adeolu said that he has sufficient evidence to sustain his case.

He said if necessary, he will present videos of events on the day of the primary election.

” I have video evidence because we deployed drones to capture events as they unfolded on the day and if we need to present them, we will”.

When asked to comment about the fact that Hon. Yusuf Asimiyu Osuolale has been parading himself as the APC candidate for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, he responded by saying that no one could validly claim to be the candidate for now, in the face of the current court action.

” I am not aware that anyone is celebrating as APC candidate for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency.”

” I don’t even know Hon. Yusuf and I am sure that not many people in Ibarapa East knows him “.

” It will be the height of ignorance for anyone to believe that he is the candidate at this point and if anyone is naive enough to believe so, I can assure you that such a person is being unrealistic”.

” This is a matter we are prepared to pursue to a logical conclusion, in the interest of fairness and equity “.
