Makinde Vs Oriyomi Hamzat: When You Conspired With Others To Nourish A Monster || Sola Abegunde

There is a very disturbing trajectory unfolding in the politics of Oyo state.

I am not surprised that Governor Seyi Makinde has become extremely desperate and dangerous.

I foresee it and I have been telling a lot of people that the Governor of Oyo state is going to fight so dirty to cover his tracks when he exits office in 2027 and the only way people like him thinks they can achieve that is to install a preferred successor.

A couple of days ago, I saw a video online where the building of a particular Surajudeen “Suri,” aka King of Boys was being pulled down by the Oyo state Government.

It was alleged that the fellow, Suraju was accused of being in possession of dangerous and authorized weapons and ammunition amongst other accusations.

When I saw the video and the gigantic building in question, I started asking around, does anyone have a video of the alleged weapons and ammunition allegedly recovered from the said building but I couldn’t find any answers to my question.

I also wondered whether the Government of Oyo state or the Police have conducted their investigation, found the alleged criminal culpable and whether they have charged him to court?

I couldn’t also get any answers to those questions.

Then, I started wondering, could Government bring down the building of a citizen under the circumstances that Suraju’s building was brought down without a valid court order?

I remember that the Nigeria Police did parade the ammunitions allegedly recovered from the hotel and building of Mukaila Auxiliary about two years ago and Auxiliary have since been charged to court but I do not have information that his hotel or building was pulled down.

Just yesterday, I started reading some online reports about who Suraju Ilupeju actually is and the demolition story began to make meaning to me.

It was reported that the fellow was Auxiliary’s right hand man and he, just like Auxiliary were Governor Seyi Makinde’s extra “Security wing” before, during and after the 2019 general election.

It was reported further that Suraju had actually left the Peoples Democratic Party PDP recently and had joined Oriyomi Hamzat in the Accord Party.

Few minutes before writing this story, I came across a video of him wearing a shirt bearing the picture of Governor Seyi Makinde with the PDP logo.

I saw a number of drummers praising him while some street urchins were following him, shouting ” King of Boys”, ” Oga tiwa” .

Do you know the message the drummers were passing with their talking drums as they swarmed around Suri? It was ” Ijoba Oyo, o di power to power”!

The goings must have been very good at the time.

Like I said, it was alleged that Suri had joined Oriyomi Hamzat in the Accord Party and definitely, Governor Seyi Makinde would never be comfortable with that.

I will come back to Suri.

Now, I have seen the video of Oriyomi Hamzat, posted on Facebook.

After listening to him, I must admit that I had a difficult time deciding on whether to just sit back and enjoy the show, or, to say something about the unfolding drama.

After some time, I concluded that no matter what, no matter who is involved, men of conscience must be able to push aside emotions and say the truth, regardless of who would be uncomfortable with that truth and who stands to gain from it.

In the video that I have seen, Oriyomi Hamzat is implying that the Oyo state Government is allegedly conspiring to implicate him on criminal allegations.

He said a petition had been submitted at Panti in Lagos state and that he had been invited by the Police.

He did not state the allegations made against him but he was saying that if he was arrested and detained, whatever is been said about him must not be believed.

He said he is out of the Country but he would honor the Police invitation when he returns to the Country.

I could be wrong, but it does appear like Oriyomi knows the allegations raised against him but he is unwilling to talk about it for reasons best known to him.

I also see that he is afraid and shaken, even though, he tried hard to hide his fear.

He said some unnamed individuals have been dropping banned substances at his office in Agidigbo FM so as to implicate him and that he has information that the Oyo state Government are planning to demolish the Radio station. ( Regarding this particular point, I have a little problem. If you knew that people have been sent to drop banned substances in your office, with a view of implicating you, why not report them to the police or, at least, mention their names)?

I am so particular about the explanations by Oriyomi regarding how he got to know Suri.

He was very emphatic about the fact that he knew the fellow when both him, ( Suri) and Auxiliary were acting as Security cover for Governor Seyi Makinde during the 2019 and 2023 general election.

He talked about an incident at Igangan in 2023 and I’m sure he was talking about the bloodbath that followed Governor Seyi Makinde’s campaign train at Igangan in 2023.

I remember that Auxiliary also spoke about the Igangan incident before he was picked up.

I am however surprised that Oriyomi didn’t talk about the unfortunate incident in Eruwa during the 2021 Local Government election, when Auxiliary led some PDP thugs to disrupt the election and in the end, four innocent lives were lost, including that of late Ebenezer Opakunbi.

I specifically mentioned this incident not because Oriyomi was connected to it, but because of the conspiracy of silence, even from him and his Radio station after the incident.

Apart from the fact that he and other prominent Broadcasters covered the story up, the widow of one of the deceased, late Ebenezer Opakunbi, was taken to his Radio station but they were chased away.

If he contests this facts, I will provide evidence.

I am not saying this to mock him for his present predicaments but I am just saying that if you join others to create and nourish a Monster, you might end being consumed by the Monster you created.

When things were going well between him and Governor Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo state could never be wrong.

He practically submitted himself and his Radio station to advance the cause of Governor Makinde and his Government, even when the Governor was being unfair to others.

Immediately Governor Seyi Makinde assumed office, he turned against almost every politicians who assisted him to become Governor.

When Governor Seyi Makinde was blackmailing those who helped him, saying that they conspired against him because he refused to be sharing the resources of Oyo state with them, where was Oriyomi?

When Auxiliary was arrested and locked in prison, where was Oriyomi?

At that point, I expected him to have remembered a Yoruba proverb which says when your age mates begin to die one by one, you should know you may be the next victim. ( Iku to npa ojugba eni, owe lo npa fun ni).

I will say this and I am saying it as a personal perspective, if Governor Seyi Makinde could treat Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja the way he treated him before providence prevailed and destiny was fulfilled, did Oriyomi think he was special?

I do not know the details of what is between the two of them, even though I have heard a lot of funny stories but people like Governor Makinde do not keep prisoners.

We all know how close Seyi Makinde and former Governor Ayodele Fayose were before Makinde became Governor.

How long did it take Governor Seyi Makinde to discard Ayo Fayose?

In fact, the former Ekiti state Governor was humiliated and embarrassed at Osogbo during a PDP zonal Congress.

What of former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

If not for his dexterity, Wike would have become another of Governor Seyi Makinde’s victims.

What of Senator Hosea Agboola? The list is endless.

I think Oriyomi Hamzat underrated Governor Makinde’s penchant for crushing his adversaries.

I remember, some years ago when the same Oriyomi Hamzat was declaring on Radio that he was a Stakeholder in Seyi Makinde’s Government.

So, where is the stake today?

Many of us have been pointing out the deficiencies of Governor Seyi Makinde and his Government over the years and the likes of Oriyomi Hamzat have spent years neutralizing whatever points we raise and the facts we placed before the public.

Honestly, the handwriting were clear on the wall but I don’t know what joker Oriyomi thought he has up his sleeves that made him think he could beat Seyi Makinde to his game.

One thing is certain. Karma is real. It is here, present in all we are currently witnessing.

The good thing about all these is that, the citizens are the better for it.

I urge Oriyomi Hamzat to spill the beans further and allow us the opportunity to see the Frankenstein in our midst and believe me, this is timely.

I saw a video earlier today where a fellow on Facebook was saying that he was sure that Governor Seyi Makinde and Auxiliary have settled amongst themselves and that ” Baba Rili” would be out before the 2027 general election.

When he said so, something was aroused in me. Something I saw but which I have been keeping for the appropriate time.

I was in a court room earlier this year and coincidentally, Auxiliary was brought to the court on that day.

I sat on one of the front benches and infact, Auxiliary sat beside me, so close to me.

I noticed that the man has become profoundly robust, his dark skin glowing like never before.

Honestly, I have never seen Auxiliary that robust, fresh, looking well fed and glowing.

After a few minutes, I stood up, called my elder brother who was with me to follow me to the court gallery.

It was after we got to the gallery that I asked my brother if he knew the fellow who sat beside me and he said no.

He was shocked when I told him it was actually Auxiliary.

After listening to the young man who said Auxiliary might walk free before the 2027 general election, I remembered that incident but I’m not perturbed.

We will be waiting for Governor Seyi Makinde and whatever expired tricks he is bringing out next.

Let me now go back to Suri.

I am not comfortable about the manner his building was brought down but let me ask, exactly what is the fellow’s job?

That building in question is so massive.

I have heard people say that he is Auxiliary’s right hand man. Right hand man, as what?

I hope the gentleman was not also one of the people feeding fat from the internally generated revenues belonging to the 33 Local Governments in the name of Park Managers?

I am saying this because the Park Management System, that illegal entity, is a conduit pipe, through which the IGR of the 33 Local Governments in Oyo state are being funnelled to private pockets.

Let me round up by saying this, whatever allegations that might have been woven or concocted against Oriyomi, I pray and wish for him to be vindicated, if he is innocent.

This episode will definitely serve as a big lesson for him moving forward.

Evil men are like the deity, Sanngo. When they fight, they don’t recognize boundaries. (Sango kii ja, ko mo aala).

As for Governor Seyi Makinde, I will like him to address the allegations that he, also knew Suraju very well and that both Suraju and Auxiliary rendered extra ” security services” for him in 2019 and 2023.

Oriyomi Hamzat was sarcastic when he said, ” I know Suraju very well. How would you know Auxiliary and you won’t know Suraju”?

He also talked about how people were assisted ” taken out of prison”, ” and used to win election”.

Auxiliary was very emphatic that Seye Famojuro and Seyi Makinde approached him and pleaded with him to replace Sunday Igboho as their ” security ” before the 2019 general election in an interview he granted with an Ibadan based Broadcaster.

He also talked about Igangan and the violence that happened in the town in 2023. A violence that claimed many lives, yet, no one was arrested!

Governor Seyi Makinde was in Igangan on that fateful day.

Baba Rili, as Auxiliary is fondly called, was also emphatic about the fact that he spent the resources of the PMS, our resources, to fund Governor Makinde’s second term election.

Neither of Governor Seyi Makinde nor Seye Famojuro had confirmed nor denied the heavy allegations Auxiliary raised against them.

What we saw was the sudden arrest of Auxiliary, his prolonged trial and perpetual detention in prison custody.

That is not enough.

Now, another very close ally of the Governor, Oriyomi Hamzat has spoken about Igangan and another individual who was allegedly another mysterious ” security” of Governor Seyi Makinde.

It will also not be enough for Governor Makinde to just demolished Suraju’s house.

It is important at this point for the Governor of Oyo state to tell the public why he still required an extra ” security” in the likes of Auxiliary and now, Suraju Ilupeju.

Most especially, considering the fact that Seyi Makinde had access to police escorts at the time.

What specific job were Auxiliary and the likes of Suraju doing for Seyi Makinde and Seye Famojuro?

If they were engaged as extra ” security”, as alleged, with what ammunition were they carrying out their assignments? Sticks?

When Seye Famojuro and Seyi Makinde approached Auxiliary and allegedly asked him to provide them with ” extra security”, did Makinde not know that Auxiliary just left prison, having been convicted for serious crimes?

You can not engage dangerous elements to assist you win elections and when they were with you, you protected them with the instruments of state and when you have issues with them, you now begin to victimize them.

If Governor Makinde would not address these very damaging allegations, no one would clap for him and as for the remaining lickspittles who have dedicated themselves to defending Governor Makinde, watch your backs.

The Monster you joined together with others to nourish is coming for you when he is done with his current victims.
