Ibadan -Ijebu-Ode Road Flag-off Controversies: Those Who Should Be Ashamed Of Themselves |By Sola Abegunde

Governor Seyi Makinde’s Men Friday are having sleepless nights.

Infact, they are becoming dangerously uncontrollable.

On Monday, I saw a flyer for the regular program anchored by Isaac Brown on some WhatsApp platforms and I saw that his guest for the Tuesday program is Ademola Farinto, the Oyo state Commissioner for Environment.

I also saw that the topic captured for discussion, according to the contents of the flyer is centered on environmental issues within Oyo state.

However, this morning, Isaac Brown used the opportunity of his introduction comments to join the crying babies who have refused to be pacified because Governor Makinde was not invited for the flag-off of the Ibadan -Ijebu-Ode Road project at Idi Ayunre on Monday.

In fact, he threw caution to the wind while attacking the organizers of the program at Idi Ayunre for failing to invite Governor Seyi Makinde for the flag-off.

” SHAME ON YOU ALL. SHAME ON YOU ALL”, he repeated twice.

For the avoidance of doubts, the flag-off program in question is under the purview of the Federal Ministry of Work, but, I must say that the problems of people like Isaac Brown is not with the Federal Ministry of Work.

Their headache lies where he will never dare to mention.

As I was listening to him, vibrating like a wrecked milling machine, I told someone, why is it that some people would not know where and when they need to keep quiet?

If anyone should be ashamed, I think it is those who took a birthday cake to the Governor’s office and returned with a gift of SUV.

By the way, what is Isaac Brown’s personal interest in a purely political matter?

Or, has he joined Governor Seyi Makinde’s Media Team and we don’t know, or perhaps, he is now on retainership with the Governor and the public is not aware of the development?

Even, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Commissioner for information was far more careful in his choice of words when he registered the displeasure of the Government of Oyo state regarding the incident.

I am not surprised that people like Isaac Brown have chosen to wail louder than the bereaved in this matter.

What an undeserved gift of SUV can not do to a Man’s psyche does not exist.

I have addressed this issue in a piece I wrote yesterday.

I have kept asking those who chose to develop a negative pregnancy concerning Governor Seyi Makinde’s alleged snub to tell us, exactly, what injuries were suffered by the Governor of Oyo state through his absence at the event.

I also asked, had it been Governor Seyi Makinde was actually invited to the program, would he have attended in the prevailing circumstances?

I know that Governor Makinde and his olentelafas are looking for sympathy, but, in this circumstance, they will have none.

The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has deemed it fit to approve a road project that will add value to our state and the South West of Nigeria and instead of discussing the importance of such a project, we are here talking about trivial matters.

Infact, shame on those who have access to the microphone but would rather discuss irrelevant issues while neglecting the infrastructural development president Bola Ahmed Tinubu just gave us in the South West.

Honestly, I have kept saying this, Governor Seyi Makinde enjoys the company of psychopants and mediocre praise singers.

I see that his attack dogs, including a funny fellow who stays abroad and claims to know everything including the day a married woman would be pregnant for his husband, could not sleep since yesterday.

They have a problem with everyone, even, including the Olubadan of Ibadan Land.

I have been told recently, that unnecessary tension and untamed anger are capable of causing trauma and inducing mental related issues.

I hope some people would not have the need to be seeing a psychiatrist after the 2027 general election, because, take it or leave it, the All Progressives Congress, APC and indeed, Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli is the next Governor of Oyo state.

I kept asking myself, why singling out the Olubadan for condemnation at every opportunity?

Was he the only Traditional Ruler present yesterday?

Many Nigerians, including these clowns were excited about the just concluded gubernatorial election in Osun state.

Didn’t they see the roles played by Traditional Rulers in the build up to that election?

Without necessarily mentioning their names, many first class Obas in Osun state publicly endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The clowns had no problem with that, but they have issues with the endorsement of Tinubu for a second term in office by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, a prominent Yoruba Oba, who announced his support for a Yoruba son who is currently the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Let me even ask, who should Ladoja have endorsed for the presidency?

I hate pretenders. We all now begin to act as if we don’t know how things work in this part of the world!

Just this morning, I read a report that President Tinubu had also done something about the Abeokuta -Ibadan road.

So, who should Ladoja have endorsed?

The president approved the establishment of a Federal University, FUNATO at Okeiho. That University is operational now.

He has intervened in many of our tertiary institutions through TETFUND, including state owned institutions.

So, shouldn’t Oba Ladoja take notice of all these developments?

Did he say he was supporting Tinubu for personal reasons, or are they not friends?

Did he not talk about developments of Oyo state and Ibadan?

I have said it before now. We will not make the mistake of allowing some tifunloran journalists to take control of the agenda setting for the 2027 election in Oyo state.

We made that mistake in 2023. We won’t repeat the same mistake in 2027 and I must, once again appreciate those Media Practitioners who have continued to uphold the ethics of the Media profession over the years.

They are the heroes of this trying time.
