LAUTECH SUG Election: Oyo Youth Parliament Member Areo ‘Afrika’ Congratulates Famakin ‘Dopeman’, Urges Inclusive Leadership


A member of the Oyo State Youth Parliament representing Ogbomoso North Constituency, Hon. Comr. Areo Oluwatobi Akintunde (Afrika), has congratulated the newly elected Students’ Union Government (SUG) executives of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, following their victory in the recently concluded student union elections.
In a congratulatory message made available to journalists, Areo particularly hailed the emergence of Comr. Famakin Mubarak, popularly known as “Dopeman,” as the new SUG President, describing his election as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in him by the student community.
The youth parliamentarian noted that the victory comes with enormous responsibility and called on the new student leaders to prioritize service, accountability, and the welfare of students throughout their tenure.
According to him, the mandate given to the new executives should be seen as an opportunity to promote unity, academic excellence, innovation, and meaningful engagement among students while upholding the values and reputation of the institution.
Areo further urged the newly elected leaders to remain committed to their campaign promises and provide purposeful leadership capable of addressing students’ concerns and advancing their collective interests.
He also expressed readiness to collaborate with the student leadership on initiatives aimed at youth empowerment, leadership development, community advancement, and student growth.
The lawmaker wished the newly inaugurated executive council a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence in their ability to deliver effective representation and leave a lasting legacy in the university’s student union administration.
