2027: Governor Seyi Makinde As A Ri Teni Moo Wi || Sola Abegunde
2027: Governor Seyi Makinde As A Ri Teni Moo Wi.
There is a way we use to describe people with hypocritical tendencies in Yoruba Land. ( A ri teni moo wi, a fi okele bo tie mole).
Take it or leave it, the Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, is fantastically hypocritical.
This is someone who will always shout loudest and wail about certain methods whenever they are used against his interest but he will also employ the same methods against others.
For some time now, Governor Makinde have been violently indisposed to what he and others call president Tinubu’s stifling of opposition political parties in Nigeria.
Governor Makinde is at the forefront of every gathering where topics relating to the alleged choking of opposition political parties by Tinubu are being discussed.
Recently, he hosted a purported Summit of the opposition in Ibadan where he reawakened our consciousness to an ugly moment in our political history.
A moment that of violence, bloodshed and the termination of civil rule in the first Republic – ” Weti e’.
If you listened to Governor Seyi Makinde while addressing the Summit, you might be deceived to believe that he was a reincarnate of the late sage, Obafemi Awolowo.
I have always say it that people should be measured by the records of their actions and not by the speeches they make or how cool or tough they look.
I have also been saying it that the agenda setting for the 2027 general election must not be left for the Media.
I am surprised that the Media in Oyo state have not been doing more than just reporting the confusion and conflicts which is suddenly bedeviling the Accord Party in Oyo state.
I have not seen anyone talked about the alleged involvement of Governor Seyi Makinde in the confusion that is currently consuming the Accord Party in the state.
I am so surprised that no one is talking about Eleniyan and the hatchet job he is doing in the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
For some time now, it never looked like Oriyomi Hamzat would have an opposition within the Accord Party.
He was firmly in control with his Army of ‘ Oyo npe O’ fully in charge of the structures of the party.
So, where did Kunle Busari suddenly come from?
How was he able to effortlessly wrestle the control of the Accord Party from Oriyomi Hamzat the way he did?
I think I have an answer to these questions.
Kunle Busari, aka Gudugudu, I hope I got the spelling right, the fellow is a close ally of Governor Seyi Makinde and Seye Famojuro.
Infact, I was informed, allegedly, that Governor Seyi Makinde awarded the contract for the rehabilitation of Odinjo-Eleeta road in Ibadan South East Local Government to Kunle Busari sometimes ago.
According to information at my disposal, Seye Famojuro and Busari, allegedly had some issues with respect to that contract and the latter was asked to submit bids for the rehabilitation of Joyce B Road as a way of pacifying the latter.
I was informed that he didn’t get the Joyce B Road contract eventually.
I am working on the information I have about the Odinjo-Eleeta road rehabilitation and the very unpleasant allegations I received concerning the contract.
The allegations center on an alleged altercation between Seye Famojuro and Busari and I can assure you that I will get to the roots of the matter.
I will definitely do the needful when I finish with my investigations.
They are very dirty secrets which the public must hear about.
With the above background, you will see that the fellow, Kunle Busari is not an alien to Governor Seyi Makinde and Seye Famojuro.
So, if he suddenly sprout within the Accord Party and within a short period of time, he was able to upstage Oriyomi Hamzat, do you need to look far away if you want to know those who might have prompted his miraculous overtaking of Oriyomi?
Naturally, I shouldn’t be bothered about their dogfights because, the same Oriyomi Hamzat was once a willing tool of Governor Seyi Makinde. ( Ija lo de lorin di owe).
The dismantling of the Accord Party is a carefully written script by Governor Seyi Makinde and Seye Famojuro.
I do not think that Governor Seyi Makinde’s former Special Adviser on Security, Fatai Owoseni ( CP) rtd, joined the Accord Party by coincidence, just as the emergence of Gudugudu, a contractor with the Makinde Government as the surprise candidate of the Party is also not a coincidence.
They also had their person in the ADC.
Eleniyan or what is he called.
That one also held a parallel Congress in the ADC.
Up till today, Governor Seyi Makinde’s displaced persons within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP still parade themselves as ” the PDP loyal to Governor Seyi Makinde” and Taminu Turaki and his co travelers still parade themselves as” the National Working Committee loyal to Makinde “, despite the judgment of the Supreme Court which barred them from parading themselves as Chairman and members of the PDP National Working Committee.
Governor Makinde’s anointed gubernatorial candidate, Bimbo Adekambi, is currently a member of the Allied People’s Movement, APM.
So, in Oyo state, as things stands, Governor Seyi Makinde is a member of the APM.
He is also the Leader of the displaced persons who refused to let go of the PDP, even though, they don’t validly belong to the party.
An associate of him, who was awarded a fat contract has been announced as the gubernatorial candidate of the Accord Party against the run of play.
He tried to scuttle the Primaries of the ADC through his moles within the Party.
So, where exactly did Governor Seyi Makinde get the mouth to accuse President Tinubu of attempting to stifle the opposition?
What name should we give to his tactics in Oyo state?
Should we say he is strengthening the opposition in Oyo state?
Like I have always said, I don’t blame Governor Seyi Makinde.
I blame the overwhelmed Media.
If it is about Tinubu, everybody’s adrenaline shoots up but if it is Governor Seyi Makinde, then, almost everyone became deaf, dumb and blind.
What a gift of SUV and political appointments can not do, doesn’t exist.
Good enough, no one is relying on them to set the political agenda this time around.
If some people have become lame and overwhelmed in doing their job, some of us are prepared to do the job by ourselves.
After all, it’s been said that if you want something done perfectly, do it yourself.
The failures of the Makinde Government are everywhere for everyone to see, but who would ask the right questions?
I have been talking about the Light Up Oyo for years now.
A project which is supposed to cost 28 billion Naira but which was varied to over 40 billion Naira.
As if that is not enough, just last year, not long after Hon. Shittu from Saki West raised a very serious allegations against the Governor and the Oyo state House of Assembly with respect to borrowings and the processes of the loans obtained by Governor Seyi Makinde, the Government of Oyo state came out with a series of approvals and surprisingly, hundreds of billions was also approved for the Light Up Oyo.
I raised a lot of questions about the sudden approval of funds for several contracts at that time.
I was curious about the seeming coincidence between Shittu’s allegations and the timing of the approvals.
I asked the Media to follow up on the new approvals and the projects attached to each of the approvals so as to ensure probity.
Curiously, it was at that time the approval for 7.8 billion Naira was made for the purchase of Aircrafts.
Look at what is happening with the purchase as we speak.
Approval was also made for the construction of an airstrip at Igbeti.
Where are the Aircrafts now? Where is the airstrip?
Unfortunately, no one is talking about them!
It’s as if we have a Saintly Governor in Oyo state!
Back to the Light Up Oyo, what new things has happened around the project from the time the new approvals were made and now?
This is a project which Governor Seyi Makinde himself admitted publicly to its failure.
An investigation was promised by the Governor but nothing came out of it.
I was at a Radio station recently and the gentleman who interviewed me was reacting to a question I raised about the Light Up Oyo and he said, the Governor had apologized for the failed project.
I felt terribly bad that day, even though, I didn’t betray my emotions.
How could we be trivializing such a sensitive issue?
Now, regardless of the nonsense that happened around the initial failed project, Governor Seyi Makinde still went ahead to approve funds in hundreds of billions with respect to that same project!
Question is, where is probity? Where is accountability?
This is just one of the numerous fraudulent activities of the Government of Seyi Makinde.
Not long ago, a journalist was talking to me about Bimbo Adekambi and he was of the opinion that the fellow would present a big challenge for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
I just laughed and I told him that when it is time to go for a hunt, we will hunt at the backyard of the grass cutter.
I told him that Bimbo Adekambi, apart from the burden of the Seyi Makinde Government which he will be carrying on his head, we will also have interesting questions for him to answer.
Some of us know how long he is been with Governor Seyi Makinde and Seye Famojuro.
Not only that, we also know the journeys they’ve made together.
Let me prepare something for his perusal, the Contract for the upgrade of the Alakia Airport was initially awarded for a sum of about 62 billion Naira.
We will want to know if there were variations on the contract, if yes, how much? Why?
Like I said, when the time to hunt is ripe, we will hunt at the backyard of the grass cutter.
Sola Abegunde.
