APC, PDP Hail Oriire Youth Council’s PVC Sensitization, Pledge Support For Upcoming Stakeholders’ Summit

Oriire Youth Council (OYC) on Sunday held strategic meetings with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Oriire Local Government Area, Ogbomoso.The meetings, which took place at the Whot Club, Takie area, Ogbomoso (with APC) and later at the residence of the newly elected PDP Chairman in the Blind-Centre area, focused on building synergy for the ongoing Permanent Voter Card (PVC) sensitization drive and the upcoming second edition of the *#OriireFirst Stakeholders’ Summit*, scheduled to hold at Jegbe Town Hall, Ikoyi-Ile — the council headquarters.The PVC drive seeks to increase Oriire’s registered voters from about 65,000 to over 100,000 by the end of 2025. The summit, modeled after the maiden edition in December 2024, is aimed at uniting traditional, religious, and political leaders across divides for constructive dialogue on repositioning Oriire in the areas of economic prosperity, education, infrastructure, and political participation.During the APC meeting, Party Chairman Prince Lukman Ayuba lauded OYC for leading from the front on sustainable development initiatives. “We are impressed by your consistency and non-partisan approach. I encourage you to remain neutral in your modus operandi to sustain public trust. Be assured that we will rally all concerned APC leaders to actively participate in your upcoming summit,” he said.APC Party Secretary Prince Oladiran Oyekanmi added: “This initiative shows the youths of Oriire are ready to take responsibility for the future. The party will support you in spreading this message further.”Hon. Adesina Gabriel Adeboye, Legislative Aide to Hon. Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao-Akala, noted: “The voter sensitization drive is crucial for repositioning Oriire. With increased voter strength, our local government will have stronger negotiating power politically.”APC PRO, Hon. Ezekiel Bamikole, pledged publicity support:“We will help amplify your message within our structures to ensure Oriire people turn out massively to register and vote.”At the PDP meeting, newly elected Chairman Hon. Oyelade Gabriel Olatunde (Tunde Oloya) described OYC as a beacon of hope for Oriire. “We will lead a formidable PDP in Oriire that prioritizes political representation, economic transformation, and infrastructural turnaround. You have our full cooperation, and together we can push for the long-overdue attention our local government deserves.” he assured.Newly elected PDP Party Secretary, Hon. Adekunle Timothy, stated: “The consistency of OYC gives us confidence. We are ready to join hands with you to make sure Oriire is not left behind in development and representation.”Former PDP Women Leader, Hon. Olawale Janet, added: “As mothers, we see the energy of these youths as a blessing. We will mobilize women to support the PVC drive and to attend the summit.”Speaking after the tour, OYC National Chairman Sarafadeen Isiaq Owonikoko reiterated the group’s non-partisan commitment: “Our focus is on repositioning Oriire, not playing politics. We are encouraged by the support we have received from both parties, and we look forward to seeing this translate into practical action.”Ex-Officio I and Oyo State Youth Parliament Member, Joshua Ojo Aderemi, stressed the importance of synergy: “Oriire’s peculiarities — 10 wards, 800+ towns and villages — require unity of purpose. That’s why our summit is bringing everyone to one table, regardless of differences, to put Oriire first.”The OYC delegation on the tour included Sarafadeen Isiaq Owonikoko (National Chairman), Ajala Oluwaseun (Assistant National Secretary), Joshua Ojo Aderemi (Ex-Officio I & Youth Parliament Member), Aremu Gideon (Ward 9 Representative), and Jacob Phebian Akorede (Financial Secretary).
