HON. OLUSAYO BIBIIRE: A POLITICIAN WITH PROVEN TRACK RECORDS

Ogbomoso South, Oyo State – July 13, 2025

Hon. Daniel Olusayo Oyelola, widely known as Bibiire, has remained a consistent and committed political figure in Oyo State for over two decades. His journey into politics began as far back as 2003, when he became an active member of the Voice of the People (VOP) political group, which held its regular meetings at Baba Sango’s compound in Ilogbo. From his early days in grassroots organizing to his current contributions to community and party development, Hon. Bibiire has built a solid track record defined by loyalty, service, and passion for the people.

Over the years, Bibiire’s political allegiance remained steadfast, as he moved alongside his political family — from the VOP group into the Accord Party, then through the folds of PDP, Labour Party, ADP, and now back to the All Progressives Congress (APC), all in loyalty to his political roots and in alignment with the vision of the late Governor Adebayo Alao Akala.

One of Bibiire’s earliest recognitions came in 2003 when he was appointed as a party agent for Arowomole Ward during both the gubernatorial and House of Representatives elections, which saw victories for Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Hon. Fatai Buhari (Now Senator) under the then PDP. That same season, he also served as the coordinating secretary for Hon. Jide, the then-ward councillor of Arowomole, demonstrating early signs of his organizing capability and political discipline.

Bibiire’s impact, however, transcends electoral politics. He has consistently invested in community development, particularly in the education sector. In a notable effort to bridge educational gaps, he launched a free coaching program for secondary school students and JAMB candidates, with classes held simultaneously at Molete High School and Ahoyaya Grammar School. The program ran for six months and was fully staffed with twelve qualified teachers, all of whom were employed and paid by Hon. Bibiire himself. The initiative drew attention and was covered in local media, including Ogbomoso Today (source).

The coaching centers weren’t just about academics. They were hubs of hope, where students received not only lessons but also free exercise books and mentoring. Hon. Bibiire regularly visited both centers to supervise and encourage the participants, underscoring his personal commitment to the initiative.
Beyond education, Bibiire has played vital roles in mobilizing and sustaining grassroots political engagement. He provided free transportation for party members during Governor Akala’s official declaration in Ibadan and made generous cash and material donations — from big cash notes to foodstuffs and clothing — at both ward and local government levels. During the recent PVC registration exercise, he offered financial support to boost turnout and encouraged mass participation in the voter registration drive.

In times of crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, Bibiire stood with his constituents. He organized sensitization campaigns and distributed relief materials including hand sanitizers, face masks, and food items to families across Ogbomoso South. He also used various radio platforms to promote the party’s image and message, helping to keep the APC brand visible and credible within the region.

Perhaps one of his most heartfelt interventions is his ongoing support for students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), where he has, since 2014, regularly paid tuition fees for indigent students, many of whom may have dropped out without his timely assistance.

Each of these efforts — from the classroom to the campaign trail — paints the picture of a man deeply rooted in his community and dedicated to its progress. Hon. Daniel Olusayo Oyelola, Bibiire, is not just a politician; he is a development-minded leader whose 20 years of unwavering service continues to speak volumes.

As Ogbomoso South reflects on the leadership it needs for the future, the name Bibiire stands tall — as a symbol of consistency, compassion, and community-driven politics.
