In a resignation letter dated October 13, 2026, and addressed to Governor Makinde through the Chief of Staff, Amusan formally announced his resignation, effective the same day.

Amusan, a former Caretaker Chairman of Ogbomoso South West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), is regarded as one of Ogunwuyi’s political associates and lieutenants.

In the letter, he expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde for the confidence reposed in him and the opportunity to serve as Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council.

He also acknowledged the cooperation and support he received from members of the Governing Council, management, staff and other stakeholders during his tenure.
